“You’ll never believe this, Eden,” he said, his excitement radiating through the phone. “I wrote a song last night and you GOTTA hear it! It may be my best ever!”
“Well I can’t wait to hear it!” she said grinning. “Where are you?”
“I’m in the studio. Mass and E have been up with me all night getting the song right. I caught a couple of winks on the couch but when I woke up they let me hear the finished product. Those guys are amazing!”
“You’re right,” she said. “They are pretty amazing. So when can I hear it?”
“E is emailing it to your phone now. I’ll be down in a second. DON’T listen without me.”
“I’ll be here.”
Eden hopped out of bed and wrapped her bare body in the plush, white robe and stepped into the tight slippers the hotel furnished for guests. Moments later Sal showed up at the door wearing last night’s rumpled clothes, eyes shining excitedly. Eden gave him a big hug and inhaled his musky, masculine scent mixed with a faint hint of cologne. It was obvious he hadn’t showered but there was something arousing about it. She could go for round two, but she didn’t dare interrupt his excitement. She showed him to the couch then retrieved her purse from where she’d left it on the counter last night. As she reached for her phone, she noticed she hadn’t returned his phone to him at the club.
“Oops, here you go!” She said tossing the phone to Sal. He sat it on the coffee table and watched as Eden plugged her smart phone into the stereo adapter.
The mood of the track was intoxicating, it’s driving beat punctuating Sal’s ravenous delivery.
