SCENE SET UP: Dante let the car idle so they could keep the heat running and he and Sal stared out the window awaiting Hoss’ arrival. The CD player blared Sal’s most recent studio song. Though still a work in progress, Dante could already tell it had potential. Sal’s clear delivery and chilling voice reinforced in Dante’s mind that he had a star in the making.


Came a long way but still got miles to go/

Every day just tryna make it out the cold.

De-troit, Six Mile, Seven Mile Road/
Where even in the summer you can come across a pile of snow.
I’m tryna make it out and make my team proud/
‘King Sal’ is the name that’s gonna ring loud.
All it takes is patience and persistence/
I’ve been waitin in position now I’m makin my transition, UH!
